POCUS Training*

Service Description

POCUS is a clinical tool that uses ultrasound imaging to create real-time images at the patient's bedside. A treating clinician performs POCUS, rather than a radiologist or cardiologist, and can immediately integrate the images into their clinical decision making. • Emergency medicine: POCUS can help differentiate between conditions like myocardial infarction, pneumothorax, and pulmonary embolism. • Critical care: POCUS can be used to guide treatment for patients in intensive care units. • Trauma: POCUS can be used in trauma care. • Vascular medicine: POCUS can be used in vascular medicine. Students will use the Kosmos Portable Ultrasound Machine to identify • Ejection Fraction • AI FAST and eFAST exams • Auto VTI • Auto Doppler • And more! * This is a familiarization course only. Not currently offering Certifications or CEUs at this. (hopefully soon!)
